A Cold Morning in Kyoto
March in Kyoto can be unpredictable, but for Aitza and Manuel, the weather gave us a gift. As soon as we arrived in Gion, the snow began to fall. It was a freezing morning, but the cloudy sky created a dark, moody vibe that made the whole session feel incredibly romantic.
The Perfect Match
One thing that stood out immediately was their style. Aitza and Manuel chose a minimalist, neutral color palette that complemented each other perfectly. Even though it was super cold, they never stopped smiling and truly enjoyed the magic of the falling snow.
The Secret Plan
Manuel was nervous from the very beginning. To help him stay calm and keep the surprise a secret, we treated the first half of the day like a standard couple’s photoshoot. We explored several iconic spots on the way up the mountain, and Aitza remained completely clueless about what was coming.
A Surprise at the Top
We reached the top temple, Kiyomizu-dera, for the big moment. We even prepared the flower bouquet myself to make sure everything was perfect. In front of the historic architecture, Manuel finally dropped to one knee while we were playing the song he requested.
We were very lucky with our timing; today, Kyoto has become much stricter with photography bans in certain areas, but we were able to capture this forever memory without any issues.
The La Casita Family Team
This session was extra special because the whole La Casita gang was there—me, Pati, and our son Parker. We love working as a family to capture other families and couples starting their journey together.
