A Connection Built on Recommendations
Our journey with Sam began in a local Osaka community group. We woke up one morning to find ourselves tagged by so many people recommending our work! When Sam reached out, she had a clear vision: she wanted to capture her pregnancy at 8 months with the beauty of the Sakura. Knowing that walking can be difficult in the third trimester, we looked for a location that was both stunning and accessible.
The Magic of Kawazu Sakura
We suggested the Kawazu Sakura, located just south of Kyoto. These are famous for their deep pink color and for blooming earlier than the standard cherry blossoms. We decided to travel to the spot together, making the trip a fun family adventure. The timing was perfect—the trees were in full bloom, creating a soft pink canopy over the family.
Friendship and Playdates
What made this session truly special was the bond between our children. Sam’s daughter, Haley, is the same age as our son, Parker. They became instant friends! While we were capturing memories, they were busy playing. Haley even wore a special shirt announcing her new role as a "Big Sister."
More Than Just One Session
This photoshoot was the start of a beautiful friendship between our families. Over the years, we have hung out for playdates and captured many more milestones for them. We photographed baby Amelia’s 100th-day celebration, Haley’s Shichigosan, and another beautiful Hanami session as a family of four.
A Bond Across Borders
Sam’s family has since moved back to the United States, but we will always treasure the friendship we built under those pink trees. Photography gave us more than just great images; it gave us a community. Even though they are far away now, the memories we made in the parks of Japan remain close to our hearts.
